While trying to figure out Rose Tree Media School District, I've run across this:

463.2875 MHz DMR SL1 CC3 TGID 2000 RIDs: 1XX

Around the clock radio checks 07:15, 15:15 & 23:15

Security - Bravo 100, 200 300, Rear, Rover, etc.

Mentioned "hospice employee" back in October, so I'm guessing a medical facility. Very little other talking.

CC does not match CHOP TRS.

Possibilities:

St. Luke's Hospital - Quakertown Campus463.2875FB27K60FXW25WQGN965AQUAKERTOWNBUCKSPAIG
Thomas Jefferson University463.2875FB27K60FXD40WQCB270ATURNERSVILLEGLOUCESTERNJIG

Not licensed for DMR:
TEMPLE UNIVERSITY HEALTH SYSTEM463.287500MO11K2F3E25.000WQHH975APHILADELPHIAPHILADELPHIAPAIG

Any thoughts?

I checked my vast Google sheet of stations I've logged through the years & noted that I had logged this back in 2023 from Gloucester County NJ (maybe it is an oddball Jeff channel in the clear?). Just logged the frequency & CC at the time with no TGID nor monitoring notes. Guessing I may have just logged a data burst at the time. I'll have to comb through my archives of mp3s with the help of Universal Scanner Player to see if I caught anything of substance (or at all) here...

@rgchristy if you're still in range do you hear a station ID if you remain on frequency a while with no tone programmed in?

I just reset the frequency. I'll keep you guys posted.

Also, the "Delta" units are 2,3,4,etc.

I switched it back to DMR CC3 to see what I can get.

For the amount of activity on this channel, they have to be the quietest medical facility in the US.

Since I pick it up loud & clear, I'm going to try to add in the rest of the frequencies, in the suspected license to see what I get. Maybe they only use this channel for their shift check-ins and another for operations?

Glad to see you're still intent on identifying this source of signal. I am local to the area and thought I could be of help when I saw your post. Well, much to my dismay I have no hard info to provide. I can however offer some evidence to be factored in.

I am within the RTMSD and that is what caught my interest. From the southern end of Middletown Twp. the signal in question (cc3) is way down in the grass. I can decode it though. The RTMSD signal (cc11) is strong here. I have line of sight on most of the compass except for a wedge of silence of which I am quite familiar. The mystery signal is either in my wedge of silence or too distant. This is why I am still intrigued.

I do not want to be nosy, but can you provide a landmark for where in Delco a handheld on foot would get a strong signal? This would give me a starting point as so far sniffing around my local area has produced dismal results. I know my antenna and I know wher I can and cannot reach but I need a hint on where a strong signal can be found.

Been watching the spectrum for similarly behaving signals and have seen a few that look like they may be on same transmitter/location/system.

Carry on.

I'm going to update my notes with my recordings, so we can compare. My original intent was to figure out the RTMSD license usage.

It was licensed in 7/23 and may not be in service yet.

As usual, I find a bunch of things that are not related, but like to identify and rule them out.

I'm in Secane, Delco, so Gloucester county NJ is easy. Methacton SD was surprising.

Being in the RTMSD area would be especially helpful, but unfortunately, I'm not.

Was unaware of the RTMSD system until I saw your post. All I knew of was the VHF high channel which I never heard anything on. As a fan of DXing signals I look forward to help identify this one.

I'm thinking this is Tommy Jefferson related.

As far as the school district system, I receive the morse code identifyer from one of the sites, so at least one is up and transmitting. Have not heard any comms. It is on color code 11.

Be glad to help figure out the RTM system if you want.

For now we identify this 463.2875.

;)
