Monitoring a station transmitting a continuous 'buzz' on 4780Kc (s-6 level) adjacent a SWBC station on 4765 Kc. This is as of 3/6/2022 0340Z. Some what broadband, about 4700-4800 Kc wide. Curious as to what this is (jamming?); anyone else receiving this signal? Curious to know what it could be. Audio in zip file.
Thanks,
Denis
Based on both your screen shots and your sound file, this is a radar. Which specific radar it is I do not know, but it sounds rather like the Russian Sunflower. However, most of the time I have heard the Sunflower it has not been using a 200 Hz PRI as this recording does.
I would go with almost certainly radar. Normally I would say Sunflower is a leading candidate, but from your location at the times of your videos (outside, daylight, with the portable) I would not expect you to hear any Sunflower, so it has to be some other radar. The Canadians have several radars that could be a candidate, but I don't receive them often enough to have a feel for them.
