While this isn't a Uniden question exactly, there are many folks here with greater wifi knowledge than I.

My 536 is connected to my home wifi using infrastructure and works fine. My issue is my wifi coverage. I have the ATT Uverse and the box is in the basement.

I would like to listen to the scanner while I'm cutting grass, but my wifi isn't too great outside my house.

What inexpensive things can I do to increase my wifi footprint?

Thanks!

Add an Access Point. The D-Link DAP-2553 has a pretty nice range. I get at least 400 feet out of mine (never really tested the range limit). Place it near a window for the best coverage. Connect it to your network via CAT-5 and you're good to go. Well, you will need to set the settings, too.

Your unit being in the basement is likely what is killing your range.
