I want to see what features the SDS200 has, then wait for the reviews, and THEN do the same for Whistler's anticipated answer to the SDS100 and SDS200. Simulcast is not a problem in my area so I have no sense of urgency.
My philosophy exactly. I do have heavy simulcast usage in my area, but my Unication G4 has solved that problem. So, I am in no hurry either to find the best candidate for a scanner. I see too many problems mentioned with the SDS100 to bite on that. I will definately wait for Whistler's products to hit the market because they have had time to see the results of Uniden's release. Hopefully Uniden refines their base/mobile version somewhat to fix the SDS100 shortcomings. And before someone asks me to list those shortcomings, do your own research. It is all laid out here on RR.

Well these coupons that Ebay are putting out there is because Uniden must be doing some back door deals with Ebay on increasing sales. I know people will not believe it but there is always backdoor deals that Uniden does to increase sales. Most likely sales are down and they need to generate cash flow. I had an SDS-100 and sent it back using Amazon return policy and got a full refund. Just waiting to see what the SDS-200 is going to be too and see what Whistler has in the back pocket too.

IMHO, I don't know what improvements Uniden will make to the SDS200. It should be the desktop version of the SDS100, same guts, larger screen, better speaker. Releasing it as an "improvement", is admitting failure with the SDS100.
I currently own the 536 and I'm holding back until Whistler's come out with theirs, should be interesting to hear the comparisons.

Unlikely, the coupon was applicable to *everything* on eBay. I just know scanners never get marked down and are typically excluded from sales or coupons. Anytime one of these coupons happen, I think of things I need (want?) and take advantage.

Never? It isn't common but sometimes they are. The BCD325P2 was on sale on Amazon for a few days last year for $251, which was a significant savings over the regular price of $335.
