Hi,

Thrilled. Finally got "something".

Live outside of Boston.
Foreign language that I don't recognize on 6.030 (time is 7:00 AM in Boston)

Can you receive it also ?
Quite strong.

Seems like there are quite a few possibilities.

Which would be "most likely" ?

Regards, Bob

If it's Marti you'll probably hear a fairly clear "Radio Marti" ID periodically, the station will sound slickly produced, not unlike a US domestic sports talk network, and they have a catchy, short jingle.

The Calgary station would have short humor clips in English, with canned laughter.

Being that propagation isn't spectacular lately, I sort of doubt you'd hear the Calgary station, as it doesn't make it here to the PNW very solidly lately.

Back when propagation was better in 2013 or so I used to hear both stations. But Calgary is only 500 or so miles away.

If you heard foreign language, and it's early morning on 49 meters, my bet is you hear Radio Marti.

^^^^^ 1:36 p.m. your time is probably when Marti is on a higher frequency. I often hear them in the 25 meter band (11 Mhz Band) during late mornings Pacific Time, which would be around 1 p.m. or so your time in the Eastern Time Zone.

The 49 meter band, where 6030 Khz is, is a night time and morning SW band mostly. During daytime the 6 Mhz band (49 meter band) is "locals only." I.e., you're not going to hear much of anything unless you're really close to a station.
