796D Questions

Newbie Questions:
Can the 796D properly receive conventional frequencies that transmit in APCO-25 (like Westmoreland County in Virginia [ http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&ctid=2912 ])?

Also, what's the character limit on the display?

The 796 will receive p25 in Conventional mode. My book shows 16 Characters in a Alpha Tag. It will show P25 in the display when receiving digital voice.

And remember to program it in either FM or NFM only, no tones or codes!

Bad thing is I just got a BC246T and now I'm debating on the 796D or the 296D for when I have the money which will probulary be replaced by a 396T when it comes out. :\ Damn Spotsylvania and their plans to upgrade to Pro-Voice.
