Are transmissions on the DE TRS system broadcast on every tower in the state or are they just broadcast from the nearest home system (i.e. Kent, Sussex, or New Castle)? For instance a call coming from a unit on K-TAC1 that hits the Felton Tower in Kent County would only be repeated on the towers in Kent County correct, not Sussex or New Castle? I am a little unclear on this. Do transmissions from each 911 center only get broadcast on the towers in that county or on all towers in the state? Again, any input on this would be good.

It varies, depending on the TG....check the database and look for the letter designations...."K" "S" "N" for the respective counties.....and "SW" for statewide. Only a small portion of the overall TGs are statewide.

Comms can be Local to County, 2 Counties, or Statewide. Just depends on the Talk Groups the radio can affiliate to and which sites.

Correct. No need to have the TG affiliate to all sites. A radio with a Kent Co personality can affiliate to Kent Co and NCCo Co sites using KentCom DSP CMD Talk Group. If you look in the RRDB, there are a few TG's that are statewide. Most are local and some can be monitored from 2 sites.

Again, the system is flexible. DSP KentCom and SusCom can be monitored from 2 sites. AvCom can be monitored statewide. Some Fireboard comms are multi-site. It depends on the TG used, and if necessary, the 3 dispatch centers can affiliate to all the sites.

Hopefully, you are totally confused now. :?

To add my 2 cents, and add to the confusion, in the Delaware system if a radio in New Castle County affiliates to the New Castle System on a Kent County talkgroup(radio manually set to Kent TG and turned on, that talkgroup will be assigned a frequency on the NCC sytem an enabled for two-way communications. It will also do the same if set to a Sussex talkgroup. Enabeling units from other counties to remain in contact with their home base. However you will need to have ALL three county talkgroups programmed in every bank (1 NCC, 2 Kent, 3 Sussex), however this only occurs VERY seldom.
