800 non trunked systems

besides phillips having a 800 system . is there any other 800 system in the bartlesville area . i know that a local wrecker uses the system . its not on nextel but its through a local radio repair shop . the tower is about 5 miles SW of bartlesville . ive seen the base antenna its a yagi thats pointed due west . the wrecker service is paul's wrecker . some times i could hear them bleed over on 862.3625 but the fcc doesnt show anything on that freq .

800MHz systems owned and operated by the Motorola dealers are de-regulated. They do not have to license those people they sell radios to that are on their system. Here in Greenville we have a local shop that has two [2] 800 systems. They have fire depts and other misc users. Therefore the license for the fire depts never show in FCC records. Any 800MHz commerical system is the perfect place to hide certain communications.

i kind of figured as much since a local auto part's store uses the same radio set up . but since there are only 2 busineses that use that band they wouldnt need a license . but they would have to post there station call close by the base to use it . last thing i remember was the part's trucks used that 3inch 1/4 wave and the radio was a 2 ch motorola . im thinking nextel has the tower close by and the radio shop takes care of the radio's
