800MHz "Plans"

So, color me naive... but why does Uniden have 4 "plans" for 800MHz?

I thought there were only two: normal and splintered?

Of course, locally, all of the system work just fine with "Plan 1", so I've never researched the others.

Just curious if anyone knows.
