8870 - new CWP assignment for San Francisco

Was hearing San Francisco on 8870 this morning wkg Air Calin 800. They gave a secondaries of 5652 and 11384, both of which are known MWARA CWP freqs. Could not find anything listed for 8870, but they appear to be using it now for flights in this region.

Hi Brandon i started hearing san fransisco on 8870 towards the end of 2015 since then have heard very often but i couldnt find anything either they do have a nice signal into australia.

I think they have switched up 3khz from the SP channel of 8867 to 8870 for some reason. No idea why. I just checked the R/C site and the charts have been updated with only minor changes.

Hi nickcarr they where on 8867 & 8870 last night i thought as well it would make sense for them to go on 8870.

My point is that I think it's just temporary. They get a lot of freebands and pirates on 8 megs in that region and may have to move for interference reasons.

It's also very possible they made a recent change to the charts that hasn't been updated.

I do get heaps of asian pirates on a lot of the hf aircraft frequencies at night specially on the 8megs band.
