Just a question for all the experts, I am looking to purchase a uniden bcd396t or bcd996t, are there any major differences betweent the two? (I know the 396 is handheld...) Any help is appreciated

I"m not expert. I feel the performance is similar on both of them. However, the 996 does have more features. I think you need think more along the lines of comparing the versatility of a handheld like the 396 with the additional features of the 996.
