I'm currently monitoring the Okaloosa County new P25 Phase 2 system with my SDS100, SDS200, 536HP and 996P2. All of the scanners are picking it up great except for the 996P2. For some reason the only time the 996P2 will only hear a talkgroup is when it is on the patched TG ID. I have the correct TG's and CC programed correctly. When I only enter TG 5005 or 11002 its almost like it's encrypted but it's not. I hear them in the clear on all the SDS scanners. I have it programed correctly as I have been using the 996 series scanners since they first came out. I also used Freescan to download the system directly from RR just in case I made an error. I even updated the firmware of the 996P2 but that didn't help. Is there something I'm missing?

Example:
Okaloosa Sheriff CH.2 is currently transmitting on TG 5005, TG 11002, and patched on 65112
In "search for" on the control frequency on the 996P2 it shows the followingppM7Rcc1.jpg

I will attach a file later today so you can take a look at it. Regardless of programing, shouldn't Custom Search at least hear audio when it stops on a TG? It does for every other P25 system I search on except for the Okaloosa one. The above photo is while in Custom Search. When I program Okaloosa in it's own system and enter TG 5005 or 11002 in the channel section, these TG are ignored and I will only hear audio when it stops on the patched TG, 65112. Even Pro96Com seems to have a problem with pulling the information. The SDS scanners are working great.

Let me help you out,

What SCR 3 Means:

SCR (Screen Masking) Levels control what information is shown or hidden on the scanners display.

Level 3 (SCR 3) is one of the settings that limit how much metadata is visible when monitoring encrypted or partially encrypted communications.

Possible Effects of SCR 3:

It might prevent certain talkgroups, radio IDs, or system data from being displayed while scanning.

It could be causing the scanner to ignore some TGs or fail to display them properly.

How to Adjust It:

To check or change the Screen Masking Level on the BCD996P2:
1. Press Menu
2. Go to Settings
3. Look for Screen Masking or a similar option
4. Try adjusting it to SCR 0 (off) or a lower setting to see if it resolves any issues

If youre experiencing problems where the scanner ignores certain talkgroups (e.g., 5005 and 11002) but works with patched TGs, adjusting this setting might help.

Are you a bot?? None of that makes sense, there is no screen mask in the 996. It feels like you just went to chatgpt or whatever and got a response.

SCR means the broadcast screening is active. The 3 is the current search he is in.

god I hate bots...

It doesn't exist. Cmon, research the menu options specific to the scanner before posting some BS answer! User manuals are easily available and should be referenced when offering guidance. Seriously I've seen more plausible responses from Google AI :ROFLMAO:
