I can't seem to find the info I am looking for in the threads so I apologize in advanced if this has been posted. I've also tried YouTube with no luck. I want to be able to use my bcd996P2 remotely using ProScan which I have already bought and programmed the scanner successfully. My question is what exactly do I need to do this?

I have a widows 11 based laptop, and the programing cable that came with the scanner.

Do I need a second windows-based computer which would be dedicated to the scanner or is there a way to hook the scanner directly to my internet? I do have an in-home network setup with a 16-port unmanaged switch if that helps.

I guess my bottom line question is how do I hook up the 996P2 for remote scanning? I am planning on picking up an SDS 200 and I also have an SDS 100 already.

Thank you for any help and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

Yes, a computer with a Proscan activation will be needed to act as the "server", there's no way to connect a 996p2 directly to your LAN. There are two ways to achieve this, see the Proscan user manual

Remote scanner over IP: Pages 33 to 35, Requires one instance of Proscan to act as client & a 2nd to act as server. Free client can be used for that piece

Web server: Pages 28 to 32, to access & control scanner remotely via web browser. One Proscan instance needed for server
