The screen looks perfect when your looking at it from the side but head on it has black lines in the back ground. Is this signs of the screen going bad? Can you replace the screen yourself if so where can i get the lcd replacement

Thanks

Did you try adjusting the contrast setting?

Adjusting the Display Contrast This setting controls the display’s contrast. 1. Scroll to ‘Adjust Contrast’ and press E/. 2. At ‘Contrast 1-15’ scroll to the preferred contrast level and press E/ to save and exit.

Set Backlight you can also change the intensity by pressing 'VOL' to toggle your desired level to Off, High, Middle, or Low.

I sent my 996P2 into Uniden because the menu display was very light and no matter how you adjusted it, I could hardly read the menu. The scanning display screen was ok. Waiting on Uniden to see what the issue is.
