996XT display options question

I was looking at a couple of Utube threads on programing the 996XT and the example display showed what the startion actually was. Clare fire dept etc. Is that information that needs to be manually installed or is there some type of automatic display that can be turned on?

Download a free programming software, like FreeSCAN and you can input the names to whatever you want.

You can also import existing names from radioreference if you are a paid subscriber.

Great, thanks for the responses. Forgive the stupid ? (I'm new to this scanner). How do I manually enter this information and where do I find out what each ID is?
