996XT+freescan

wondering if one of you fine Georgians has the same setup and could spare 5 minutes on the phone, I download the Muscogee county site, and get Columbus good but my Harris county sheriff has 3 channels on that system mot2 that seem to scan but no voice..plus I am not getting the analog channels I was getting on the 15xt model, think I have a setting wrong somewhere.

thanks Larry, I am not sure how to do what you suggested, I just downloaded from here with freescan then into the radio, I do have the sites saved on my desktop, you saying send that file ?...so far I can get Columbus channels good, but my local sheriff shows on the scan with 5 bars on signal but no sound when it hits them. they are in the same site and group as Columbus. here is link of what I loaded through freescan.

I am presuming that Harris County is where you live. Is it possible that the Harris county SO is encrypted on the Muscogee system? The reason I ask, is that the 996XT will allow encrypted TGID's to be passed with no audio. Does the Harris county SO still use their conventional frequencies? You might want to listen and see if they appear when the TG becomes active on the trunked system.
Also, do you have all the sites programmed in?
Yes, the FreeScan file that you have saved can be attached to a post here on RR. When you post, on the top line of the text box is a tab to allow attachments.

Not sure Larry, once in a while I can get voice when Harris county talks but 99 percent is signal with out voice..when I save my download sites etc from freescan it saves as an adobe and cant be opened by adobe, using freescan seems to be the only way I can open them..If you have time and have freescan could you go see how the mot2 Muscogee county Ga looks to you ?...what ever you see in it is what I downloaded...I was thinking maybe Harris changed something and it isn't in RR, But if they did I have no clue how to find out what to change
just checked when Harris county is active with no voice it shows Harris county dispatch and the number below it is 5136

when I upload to scanner I highlight the Mot2 system, named as system Muscogee etc and it loads all talk groups automatically, Harris gets loaded as does Columbus..under one siite...then all talk group and channels are grouped in the same group number and get scanned, but Harris always just gets signal but no sound, their TGID shows and signal shows

If I could find the actual freq used by Harris I would try manual setup...But all I can find is tgid and hex dec etc for Harris, where freq are listed they are not separated with names, they just list all in that system

I think I got it, I set all the Motorola options on the freescan trunk system setup screen, all checked, then went and made all 3 harris channels as Digital and analog..and I can get them now, also set it so freq is showing all the time on the system
