With the new trunking system (p2) will my 996XT still work in some areas, primarily along the Missouri river at the state parks. I know the talk groups have changed but I can change them. Just was was wondering if anyone was still using the radio configured as a VHF with the offset. I see that most of the areas that I would be at still has modulation as a D and not a T.

It should still work with your 996XT as long as the talkgroups remain FDMA (mode "D"), though simulcast distortion may be a factor if you're monitoring a simulcast group of cells (most sites on the system don't appear to be simulcast so that'd be good news for you)
