You can disable driver signing easily on that no longer supported operating system. It's a trivial task, and then you can use the drivers @Whiskey3JMC linked ti.

I've got the disc somewhere with the super old version of that driver if you're not wanting to disable driver signing. However since that OS is old and has other security vulnerabilities disabling driver signing really is probably the least of your worries. Microsoft is still doing free win10 upgrades from 7. I haven't come across any programs yet that worked on 7 that wouldn't work on 10.

Not everyone has admin privs, or a machine that can run Win10.

:) PLUS, in windows 10 there is a way to 'disable' driver signing that after an install & a reset, returns to active driver signing. A search of the forum would let you narrow down the post where the proceedure is located in. :)

@istovit Did you ever get this resolved?

Starrsoft has a link to some drivers that go back to 98 and xp towards the bottom of the page.

Up-to-date drivers for the cable can be obtained from FTDI (the manufacturer of the USB-Serial device inside the cable), via this link. In the table on that page, the most recent drivers are at the top. You're interested in the drivers that contain "FT232R" in the "Devices Supported" column, and your operating system in the "Operating System" column. For example, as of this writing, the most current Windows driver is version 2.04.16.
