Hi everyone,
I have had plenty of confusing information over the past couple days trying to figure out what I need. Some of the departments in my area have converted over to Digital and I have resisted upgrading to a digital scanner because of the price. Well, it is time. Looking at Pigeon Forge and Sevierville TN I have noticed the following:
Pigeon Forge uses TACN project 25 phase II - there is a reference underneath the Pigeon Forge section that states NXDN Nexedge 4800 - "Fire also using this system"
Sevierville uses NXDN Nexedge 4800
I have been told that Sevierville is encrypted and is unobtainable. However I have been unable to locate that information. I have had some tell me that I do not need the Nexedge 4800 for Pigeon Forge while others say I do.
So, it really comes down to this. What are the possibilities, and what scanner options are needed for the Sevier county area? Is Sevierville and Sevier county closed? What about Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg? Maybe someone else in this area can confirm what addons to a Phase II scanner are needed. What is working for you in this area? I figured a post here will help me decipher this without spending a few more days on it. I have spoke with three different online scanner retailers and all three have given me different answers. Go figure there....
Thank you for your help in this area.
