A small plane made an emergency landing on U.S. 41 in North Cobb Monday morning. No one was injured when the Sky Arrow 600 Sport landed on the busy highway about five miles from McCollum Field near Kennesaw. After the landing, the pilot taxied the single-engine plane into the nearby Cyrus Creek town homes. Pilot Mike Davidson said he noticed smoke in the cockpit and determined he couldn't make it to the airport.
I first noticed this listening to an iCall on the Cobb P25 system. One Cobb patrol unit asked another if he had heard about it. I hadn't heard about it either at the time ;>)
