Hi guys,
When the A19 listing came out, I had some time on my hands, and decided to distill my own private station listing from it. (I used to use the listing from Primetime Shortwave, but they don't slice and dice it that way any more.) In other words, I wanted to remove everything I was NOT interested in, and end up with a list that is a fraction of that gargantuan thing.
I am OK with Excel, so I started by removing all non-english. Then, all religious. Finally, all times from 0000 to 1200 (I mostly listen in daytime.)
With my brandy-new IC-7300 I proceeded to go through the bands (mostly above 6MHz) a couple of times per day, and match it up with my listing - sometimes to ID a station, others just to confirm "keepers." What I found was that either I didn't do a good job of distilling or (this is my guess) - lots of stations either do not bother submitting changes at all, or change their schedules again after submission.
None of this is much of a surprise, but I wonder why even the "biggies" like RMI and BCQ are nowhere near accurate? Do they care? Your comments appreciated.
