Abilene Fire Dispatch ProVoice

Not sure why just yet, but I came on duty this morning and thought our dispatch traffic sounded different, and sure enough they have swithced over to ProVoice. Up until now all traffic from the dispatchers on the Fire Primary talkgroup was analog.
I will see if I can find out why the switch.

Well I never did find out the reason, but dispatch is back in the analog mode.

Apparently it was a console maintinance issue and the dispatchers were on a back-up.

For whatever reason on our system all calls are dispatched on the fire Primary talkgroup. On this particular talkgroup the dispatch consoles transmit in analog, while all other radios transmit ProVoice.

Happens here in San Antonio sometimes. Random PD and FD dispatch consoles will we analog for awhile then go right back to provoice
