Acars Hfdl

Back in 2005, there was a thread about monitoring ACARS on HF. Rather than resurrect it, I am starting this thread with a specific query about software.

I have had PC-HFDL version 2 on my laptop for a long time. Last night when I tried to use it, a box popped up saying that the "unsupported license" had expired. The program will no longer run.

An online search for the program turned up download links for version 1. Several of the pages that had info on this program no longer exist.

Is PC-HFDL still being supported? Is version 2 or higher available anywhere?

If not, what is available now for monitoring HF ACARS? My search didn't turn up anything useful.

Dave, Charles shut his website down a long time ago. There is, however, a HFDL group on Yahoo where you might be able to get this resolved...

The only other software I know of (reasonably priced) that handles HFDL is SkySweeper. Our HFDL wiki article has links to other software, but I hope you don't have a heart condition :.>> Once you see some of the prices, you'll know why I said that...73 Mike

Yeah, that's what I meant by "useful" - stuff I can afford. :wink:

I use SkySweeper.....yea it is pricey but one heck of a HF tool.
