Hello everyone - I'm not sure what to make of the drone sightings, but I was just wondering if anyone has seen any communication within their ACARS logs that reveal anything. Any messages within ACARS regarding airplanes sighting drones? You would think if airline crews were seeing anything, there would be a few ACARS messages about them!

If there is another forum better suited for this, please let me know!

Real time incidents (including lasers) are usually by voice to ATC. Indy has a laser alerts all the time never heard a drone report. Pilots new to the area ask about the blinking reds at wind farm in Benton Co and when Starlink is visible. Yes, they might send a message via ACARS but I wager it will be a tough catch.

The LiveATC archives of audio could help. You'd have to use a program like Audacity or Wavepad to easily go to each recording in the audio file as it's not VOX recorded but rather a continuous recording. Which is great for time keeping though... I mean, if you listen to a half past the hour recording and listen to audio at 10 minutes in that would be 40 past the hour...

This seems to be the public facing repository of pilot to FAA reports on UAS sightings. Haven't seen anything noted with regard to ACARS, I presume cause these are brief and generally singular incidents.

With that said, a report of pursuit by 25 UAS for an hour on 12/21/24 at FL340 from JFK to LAX would be one that seems long enough that it would have been worthwhile to punch it in.
