Hi everybody i have scanned through your forums and seen alot of posts about people having problems setting up acarsd. I am one of those people. It seems that when said people get Acarsd to work they dont say how they did it.
Does anyone have a step to step guide on how to setup acarsd?
Here is how i have it setup.

I have got my scanner on the primary european channel.
Squelch is at 100%
Volume on scanner at 100%
Wire connecting ear socket on scanner to the 'line in' of my pc.
Line in selected in volume settings and volume at 100%.

I have wacars running and i am getting many aircraft calling in, yet when acarsd is running i just see a picture of a cargolux 747-4.

Can anybody please help otherwise i may have to spend £400 on a radarbox :-( and i dont want to be doing that.

Any help will be greatly apreciated.

Seb

This is your problem. You're most likely "overloading" the sound cards input. Look in the lower right of the acarsd window for where it says vol:##### adjust your volume controls until that shows about 15-20ish and you should be in business.

Oh, for software not an FMC.

You need to make sure the signal is clear and have a good antenna! You have to adjust the sound from the scanner in increments. You can't just crank it up to 100% and expect it to work. Also, the squelch shouldn't be open. Turn the knob up to just barely as to cut out the static.
