Scanner Master, where i got my SDS100, told me wouldnt be a case for it, till they the lasting tooling from the Uniden with the new battery & Door. Then one would be made...

I was given the same information by Scanner Master.

I contacted Bearcat Warehouse last week regarding a case for the SDS100 and was told that they anticipated having a case for it "in about a month" and to keep an eye on their website. I don't know how reliable that information was that I was given.

FYI I just got off the phone with Uniden Customer Service/Support (1-800-297-1023 Option 2) and was told that they had no information regarding Uniden producing a case for the SDS100. I also inquired about a case for their MHS335BT VHF handheld marine radio (which has the same form factor as the SDS100) and was told that they had no information regarding Uniden producing a case for the MHS335BT.

Perhaps Uniden will eventually produce a case like they have for their previous handheld models (BCD396T, BCD396XT, BCD436HP, etc.). Those cases have all been of the nylon variety and not the soft-leather/hard-leather varieties offered through Scanner Master.

Actually, Uniden doesnt make it, Scanner Master has them custom made for them, they are just waiting for the final size specs, after the new battery and door are installed, to get the right size case made

Basically, Scanner Master has a company that custom makes them cases for scanners, Uniden doesnt have any thing to do with it, is what i was trying to say.

Actually Uniden has offered their own handheld scanner cases with their own Uniden part numbers in the past. I understand that someone is manufacturing the cases for Uniden but they are being sold under the Uniden name with an actual Uniden part number.

Here are a few examples to illustrate what I am talking about:

Uniden Nylon Carrying Case A2827 (Fits the BCD325P2, BC75XLT, BC125AT, BC72XLT, BC95XLT, BC92XLT, BC246 and the SC230): https://www.bearcatwarehouse.com/accessories/nylon-carrying-case-a2827

Uniden Nylon Carrying Case A2829 for the BCD436HP: https://www.bearcatwarehouse.com/accessories/nylon-carrying-case-for-bcd436hp

Uniden Nylon Carrying Case NC250D for the BC250D and BC296D: https://www.uniden.com/shop/communication/nylon-case/

Width 38
Height 51
Corner Radius 0
Film Glossy

Note that I have not applied this to my device yet to make sure I ordered the right size. It arrived today but my SDS100 is with Jonathan Wienke getting an internal GPS installed.

I'll post pictures once I get my SDS back and install the protector.

Let us know how it turns it out

I wish you could get a custom tempered glass screen protector, they are so much easier to install

I just got a universal screen protector from walmart, and cut it to size, not perfect looking, but better than nothing for sure. Rather have glass

Like others said too, I’d love to have a tampered glass screen protecor for it, i dont know why Uniden doesnt offer one as an accessory. GoPro sales them for there cameras.

I actually mentioned to someone on here the other day, about how it would be nice to have outside battery terminals on the sds100, and a drop in charger, like a home cordless phone setup, be like a “wireless charger”. That would be Really nice, instead of plugging a cable in and out of it and wearing it out.

Drop-in charger - now that's an excellent idea that would have been a winner.
For such an expensive handheld scanner, I wonder why Uniden didn't go that way.

How many handheld radios do you know off that DON'T have drop-in chargers.
Even cheap radios have them.
Why Uniden opted to remain with silly old and inconvenient methods of charging is beyond me.

Exactly, i mean, it would be so nice, to not have to worry about plugging a cable in and out every day, and just be able to use your scanner, and when done, just drop it in the charger and go on your way, till you pick and it up again, and its ready to roll. If they made it as an accessory, I’d buy it.

I removed the belt clip today, and the thing it snaps onto, and put the screw back in the hole, i plan on getting a case sometime for it. I heard the 436 case will work, but after the new battery and door, not sure it will, so im going to wait

For those who may be interested see this thread here on RR for further information on a case for the SDS100:

Explore the RR forums for comments on zipscanners and you might think twice. Seems that some of their 'scanner' accessories do not actually work with the scanners and are more suited for cell phones - (their cup holder scanner mount for one). I have read too many negative posts about zipscanners and do not even consider them when I do a search. Just a heads up.
