FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Date: 06-09-09 Time: 11:45 a.m.
On June 29, 2009 at approximately 9:45 p.m., Colorado State Troopers responded to a fatal crash on Strasburg Road and 22nd Ave in Adams County. A bicycle was southbound on Strasburg Road and attempted to cross to the opposite side of the roadway. A blue 2001 Dodge Ram was southbound on Strasburg Road. The Dodge pickup failed to see the bicycle and collided into the back of the bike ejecting the rider. The Dodge was driven to a controlled stop.
The bicyclist has been identified as Justine Little, age 14 of Strasburg, Colo. Little was airlifted to Children's Hospital in Aurora where she later died of her injuries. Little was not wearing a helmet and was wearing dark clothing. Her bike had no lights.
The restrained driver of the Dodge has been identified as Cory Linnebur, age 23 of Strasburg, Colo. Linnebur sustained no injuries.
The crash is still under investigation.
Alcohol or drugs are not suspected as contributing factors.
Next of kin have been notified.
