Please help -- the Adams County 700 system is intermitted at my location. Over 50% of the time the audio from these channels cut out in the middle of the conversation or my PSR-500 will stop on the 700 channel with no audio (but it will show me the frequency). I am able to receive Mount Thorodin and Lookout Mtn 100% of the time. Does all of the following talk groups simulcast their 700 traffic on Mount Thorodin and or Lookout Mtn 100% of the time.
ACSO (23), Federal Heights PD (26). Northglenn PD (20), and Thornton PD (11).
Thanks,
Mike

The quick answer is no, actual simulcast is almost non-exist on the DTRS.

I don't think you are asking the right question - simulcasting isn't what happens. Those TG you mention are heard almost 100% of the time on Thorodin and very often on Lookout (except Lookout doesn't allow any Thornton TG). I've found Smoky Hill also has a lot of the Adams County traffic as well. I would venture to say you could hear most all Adams County traffic on Thorodin except for Federal Heights which I've found is sometimes but not always on it.

Beg to differ, but Thorton appears up here on Mead. I get TGs 11 (mostly),12 and 13 for the PD, and the odd hit on 29 for the FD. I've also had (rare) hits on Longmont for 29 and 30. None are frequent fliers up here, but it does happen.

I catch the vast majority of my Thornton traffic off of Adams (3-022). There you'll find 11, 12, 13, 29, 30, 4120, 4128, 4130, and 4228. Looks like every Thornton agency using DTRS appears there. Good place to find them.

Adams (3-022) is funny for me with my PSR-500. It doesn't like to get a lock. It will go from 100% decode to 0% decode while still holding 5 bars in the signal strength and then go back to 100%. Any tricks? I do log almost every Adams County agency on it but I had to have it in my scanlist because of the inconsistent nature of it.

The usual questions:

Where you at? (Major cross streets would help)

What antenna are you using?

Do you have the latest DSP and Firmware in your radio?

I'm located at 80th and Elmwood Lane off of Pecos (39.840456 104.99745). I am on a hill with a 270 view. I have line of site to DIA, the entire City of Denver, Pikes Pike, and Lookout MTN Towers. To the north I am blocked by the City of Thornton water tower which is approximately 75 feet higher than the house. The nearest cell site is located 1/2 mile toward Denver and the cell antennas (roof) are below the elevation of my house.
I have tried several indoor antennas including the one that came with the PSR-500, the Diamond RH77CA, and RS 800 (this works the best). And yes the radio has been updated.
Thank you in advance for your help.
