Greetings ...

I am thinking of adding an UID group to use with the BCD436HP ...
Somehow I am unable to add another group so I can copy & paste the unit ID's as well as a Tag for each one ...
Am I missing something?
Not sure where to look for the info ...

Suggestions

In the Main folder for the trunk system. You should see one for the Departments (Agencies) and a UID folder for all UIDs that are assigned to the system.
You should be place all your UIDs with alpha tags for the system in it.

As for as I understand you can make folders for each agencies assigned to the trunk system that you are monitoring.

UID Group on BCD436HP

Thanks for the advice guys ...

I now have now been able to go into the Favorite List ... (ie City of ###)
It list the Departments within the Favorite List. (ie POLICE, FIRE, EMS)

I have been able to make another "Dept" called "UID" ...
However I am not able to cut & paste the info into this "Dept UID File"

So just to check and see ...
Can I enter the UID #s somehow into the UID Dept and with the ID turned ON ...
Will it display the tag name for the UID #?

Do I need a separate UID file for each Dept (ie. POLICE, FIRE, EMS)?

Or will I just get the UID Numbers?

Or do I have to go into the "Dept" (ex. FIRE) ?

I'm sure there's got to be a way ???

It works great on the BCD996-XT

Thanks

I am not sure about putting the UIDs in a dept. If you select a system, there is a tab for UIDs already there.

Thanks Jay .. I was going to help her. Yes you can add the user ids for the whole system and they will show up in all the departments.

I have been using it and I like that feature.

Thanks Jay ...
I was able to find the screen display ...
However when I clicked on the Unit IDs ... it was blank

So my next question is ...
If I have the ID feature turned on ...
Will automatically enter the Unit ID #s in this space ...
Or is there something else I have to do?

I know "cut & paste" doesn't work

Further suggestions?

Thanks

You need to press the + to add a blank row and then copy + paste in there. It is a bit tricky .. but way better than typing in thousands of records.

But Jay is your guy .. he knows it better than me. I just followed the instructions he gave me.

Re .. this part, as long as it is turned on for your system .. they will show. That is all you need to do.

Cut & paste works fine. You have to have at least one row to paste into, which you create by doing what edmscan says. Once you create one row, you can paste thousands of rows of data in and the list will expand as needed. Just make your data fit the format of the Unit ID list. If you are using Excel, the first column should be the name and the second the numeric ID. You don't need to put in the alert tone or light (but if you do, it'll accept it, so long as it matches the text Sentinel expects exactly). Ctrl+C in Excel, position your cursor in the "Unit ID Name" field and hit Ctrl+V.
