Adobe has discontinued support of the Flash Player on mobile devices. Everybody is updating their sites to support HTML 5.

This has come up before, I myself have asked this very question, the simple fact here is at this time this site does not support HTML 5, but there is a work around for this, change your phone browser to firefox "I believe", use it, then download Adobe 11. Adobe has chose not to support all phone's.it's on there end. I have the same problem with my new phone.

The more sites switch to something other than HTML to display content, the less accessible they will become. Flash, Silverlight, Divx, and all the other crap for rendering what should be simple text/image arrays are overkill and cause more browser and device problems than they are worth.

Database and Adobe Flash Player

Got a new Samsung Tab 2 tablet. For it to see the database it requires Adobe Flash Player 8 to see the database. Unfortunately, it is not able to load on my tablet. Is there a fix to this so that I can see the database?

As an experiment, I disabled all my plug-ins in Firefox and tried using the database.

The first thing to pop up was a message that I needed Adobe Flash Player 8 or higher.

I cancelled the offer to install Adobe Flash Player and the database continued to load, but without the click-able map.

I found the database can still be navigated without the map using the drop down list and combo boxes.

You'll encounter additional messages as you navigate, but you can cancel those out as well.
A little annoying, but it can be done.

Adobe has officially stopped supporting flash for android. You will not get this to work. It does not matter what browser you use.

The only option you may have, if your tablet is rooted, is to install the last flash apk that was released and use the default browser on your tablet. This would require you downloading and installing a third party (old) flash apk which I would advise at your own risk. I can also send you the one I use if you send me a pm with your email.

Otherwise, you will have to use the drop down boxes until RR converts to html5 which I hope will be soon, it is inevitable.

I'd also add the sky fire browser will let you use adobe. What sky fire does is renders the web page first on their server, then sends the page, already rendered, to your browser. This bypasses the need for your tablet to render the flash data. My only words of caution is to read the sky fire privacy policy and tos first and then decide if you want to use it. I don't use sky fire because their privacy policy explicitly states they reserve the right to sell your browsing information to third parties for profit (advertising more than likely).

It works fine on my iphone I just go to the page that has the counties in boxes instead of clicking on the map. My phone displays that same message but that's my work around.

Well, I know this isn't really what you want to hear, but you might just consider using the mobile version of the site instead of lamenting the lack of Flash support on your mobile device.

If you are using Firefox, you only need the Shockwave Flash plugin for Firefox. It works fine for me on Linux (which also is no longer supports by Adobe).

RadioReference could go old-school and use a simple HTML image map. I use one on my website and it works great on both phones and tablets. The only thing the RadioReference's fancy Flash map does that my HTML map doesn't do is highlight the state/county when you place your cursor over it.
