AFRN or AIRS?

I know we call the system AFRN but at work and other professional places I've been hearing it called AIRS. Any ideas? Here's a link to the page that isn't complete - Alabama Interoperable Radio System (AIRS) – Alabama First Responder Wireless Commission

It is AIRS. The Alabama First Responder Wireless Commission was form for the purpose of making decisions and recommendation on FirstNet. It has nothing to do with the Statewide 700/800 System known as AIRS.

System has been renamed to Alabama Interoperable Radio System (AIRS) with a note regarding it previously referred to as the Alabama First Responder Network (AFRN).

Please check your local county pages and submit tickets for any corrections that might be needed to correct the new AIRS designation versus AFRN.

All frequencies and talkgroups are the same
