ALL the G&F units here use the AWIN for ops in areas where they have good coverage for going 10-08, 10-07, a few 28/29/31's, and for chit chat on the only TG they have that we know of... Otherwise they are using the two VHF freqs for almost all operations. I have a feeling that G&F will be addig additional tg's asmore radios are issued. Also as more sites are added for better coverage, they will increase usage. At least three more sites are planned over the next few years that I know of. Two of these will be county/agency funded simulcasts, the third is to be a state site as far as the scuttlebutt goes.

I've monitored the G&F TGID here off of the burdette, Jonesboro, Hopewell and pocahontas towers and I hear silence, I hear them using the VHF analog more for everything. I have never heard them on AWIN from here.

As for the AFC, I hear them all the time on AWIN, and only hear them on VHF for some fire activities and interopping with fire depts that dont have AWIN.... There are still FAR to many FD's that not only cant talk to other PS agencies in thier OWN counties, but forget interop with State or other counties unless the one or two EMC's are able to go to a scene with an AWIN radio. At least ALL the SO's, and most hospitals have AWIN gear. When the $$$ is availabe, we do know EVERY hospital, and EVERY EMS/Ambulance agency will have AWIN radios.... Who knows when some of the smaller FD's will be able to afford to get at least two AWIN radios each.

I NEVER hear AFC either, I know I have their ID in, What's their ID just to make sure it's right, I hardly hear any Statewide comms here unless it's Highway PD or Prisons, Other than that I rarely hear state comms..Is there a reason for that or am I doing something wrong?
