A few days ago 11am on 158.4075 d065 I caught a medical helicopter ID as LifeEvac-4. I had not caught anything prior to that. Later around 1:00 pm I heard,
"test flight , nine minutes out, no patients on board". I was at Chippenham Hospital and their Air Eagle was parked on the ground pad, the rooftop pad was empty.
The LifeEvac never showed up there and landed at VCU. Today I have heard dispatching and flight following on 158.4075 while Air Care Eagle is parked at Chippenham.. When 158.4075 is now listed as and alternate freq for Air Care why is another aircraft using it and ID'in as LifeEvac-4

LifeEvac recently changed contracts and is now operated by MedTrans (the same company that operates AirCare Eagle). LifeEvac 4 is a new helicopter that will be serving the region. If I had to guess, the frequency labeled as "Air Care Eagle Alternate" is probably the new dispatch frequency for Life Evac.

ACE is the Chippenham-based aircraft, and LiveEvac has opened a third base and done some realignment with their designations.

LE1 - Hanover Aiport
LE3 - West Point
LE4 - Dinwiddie/Petersburg

Heard LifeEvac 1 get dispatched on the currently listed dispatch frequency of 453.125 yesterday, so I'll have to keep listening to figure out the use of these new VHF frequencies.

@richrowland - LE-4 is still based at Dinwiddie airport. There are plans to move to SRMC upon completion of a base there, but there's no defined timetable for that.
