USCG Ch 16: I can only hear Sector Baltimore, but apparantly a plane is down in Chesapeake Bay near NHK. I'm not sure if it is a Navy plane, but Sector Baltimore has being talking with NAS Pax River. Either a Navy, MSP or CG helicopter has "hoisted" the pilot, and are airlifting him to St Mary's Hospital. The pilot is suffering from hypothermia. My guess is that the helo is either Navy or MSP - probably Navy - because Sector is communicating on 16 rather than the normal CG ops channel.

It did not sound like an exercise. CG was asking if they (the helo) wanted to land at Point Lookout to meet an EMS crew, but the helo opted to fly to St Mary's Hospital directly... And hypothermia is possible in warm water, particularly if the patient is shocky.
