http://www.flightaware.com is a website that allows you to track aircraft by several methods. The best is by tail number. If you know the tail number of a celebrity's aircraft, you can track it there. Oprah's plane is registered to HARPO, INC and makes several trips a week between Chicago, Hawaii, and Santa Barbara where she has homes. Now you can relate flight transmissions by tail numbers (FAA registration number). Flight Aware has free registration too. It keeps a record of all flights of particular aircraft and has useful airport information as well.

Really amazing. I plugged in some PIT departure/arrival frequencies - The pilot gives the flight number and I just look it up on flightaware.com to see where it's going to / coming from, the type of plane, etc. This is really a lot of fun. Thanks for posting the link!

Register on flightaware.com, it gets you a lot more archived info. I was tracking a bi Gulfstream V that was at CHO one day, it goes all over the world and seems to hit a lot of resorts, i.e. Cozumel, Nice, Cabo, St Simons etc. Loads of fun but totally geek.

Just be aware, there are some aircraft that you can't track at owners request (Jeff Gordon's N24JG for example).

You got that right. There are however some celebs that don't care and if you know their tail number you can track them like Oprah, John Travolta (N707JT), and a few others. It's fun at first but then gets kinda old school from there. Can't track military aircraft or any other aircraft that has requested to be blocked. Even the charters to Iraq are blocked. They use quite a few charters. Movements to the far east are mainly via commercial. Only large troop movements are made via military aircraft now. You can't even track aircraft going into or out of Dover, Del where the casualties arrive daily from Kuwait, Ramstein, and a few others.

I see you live in "Sing Sing". Do you also work at the prison? I read a book written by a
former guard there. Looks like one hell of a place to be.

Anyway, that site is awesome. Wish they had more airports though. If people keep putting up
links, we will have one hell of a library of aircraft links for our files. Thanks for posting it.

From what I understand, the passur system costs the airport about $5,000 a month to put on the web.
