Hello all,

I have just received a brand new DJX11 receiver from Japan (DJX11E version).

I really like it so far - but I am struggling with one feature. I would like to use the AM band for broadcast reception, and I see no way to switch to the North American 10kHz step - the radio gives me only 9 kHz.

Can anybody please advise how to do this?

Thank you all!

PS: I can use 1 kHz step in VFO mode, but I prefer to use 10kHz if possible - hence the question

PPS: I know the descrambler is not really useful - but it seems there IS one in this radio. Anyone would know where it is, as I see no menu option or setting related to it?

PPPS: I have found answers to many questions posted here about this radio - if your question has not been answered yet, feel free to ask again and I will do my best to reply

One more question: I am using a generic USB to serial (3.5mm) cable with the Alinco software. I can download (radio -> PC) fine, all looks good. (And the cable works well with another radio).
But uploading does not seem to work: I get errors (as a test I am trying to re-upload the exact same file I just downloaded, to make sure that the info itself is correct). Sometimes I am able to upload a single frequency, other times even that does not work. Any suggestions? Since I can download, the communication seems to be ok. So what may be going on? This is with the Clone Utility 3.07

By the way: the radio itself is really great: had an Icom R6 before and the Alinco is way more sensitive; plus the dual receive, full keyboard etc. of course are much better.

I have this radio since 2011 bought in Akihabara Tokyo. For the MW step, there are only auto options, 9 kHz and 1 kHz. I tried the auto but the increase is still 9 khz

Because this radio is specifically for sale in Japan, be careful with the reset feature. Once I try this feature, the radio will be in Japanese letters haha. Forced to find a friend who understands Japanese to look for the language menu and then choose English again

There is one thing that needs to be straightened out. The DJ X 11 that I bought was intended for the Japanese domestic market only. Of course it's different from the export version like yours. One of them on the radio that I bought has a memory of the Japanese train frequency.....it's really useless to use it at my place

Thank you for the good comments. I think I have the same version you have hotmill57 (loaded with Japanese train frequency). So there is no way to do 10kHz spacing- that is not impressive, but I can live with it, as I can use 1Khz instead.
The language: yes, I know default (after reset) is Japanese: but the F - Wild button takes you to the language option so its very simple to switch over the English after a reset.
Now I just need to sort out the computer connectivity. I expect to receive another cable (used so far two different USB to serial 3.5MM jack cables - neither works properly; expecting USB to USB Mini cable now) - hopefully that will work then.

It is highly recommended to buy an erw 8 cable, I have used it since I bought it together with the purchase of a dj x11, it can even be used to connect to hdsdr software

Yes, that is the one I am getting. Should be here next week. The other two cables as USB to 3.5mm: one with three pins on the 3.5mm (does not work at all); the other one with 4 pins on the 3.5mm (reads the data but does not write). The ERW8 should work when it arrives.
