So each tower has channels listed but the frequencies are different for each tower. Are these different repeaters connected for wide-area coverage? For instance, Channel 3 is listed at each tower with a different frequency. Do field units have to know which channel (tower) to switch to depending on their geographic location? Why wasn't simulcast utilized? With all of these different frequencies, why wasn't zoned trunking used? Good for Allegany for breaking free of lowband, but it looks to be piece-mealed!

I don't think the county could get licensed for a trunked system. Well as for the method of their madness they still aren't sure what they want to do. It is a real mess. Companies almost came unglued when they heard that the ambulances would have to respond on Call 1 and use MED 4 and 6. Allegany County will start dispatching for Garrett and Washington Counties. So three counties will share 2 MED channels. That is going to cause problems. If both are tied up and a Priority 1 patch comes through. The Priority 1 will have to wait until the channel opens up. PROBLEMS!
