Allegheny County upgrades

I wonder what kind of changes we'll be seeing in the future since some of the American Rescue Plan funds were designated for radios and upgrades? I'd imagine at the least some more P25 stuff...

$10 million to buy fire/EMS/police a few radios to start replacing their oldest ones.

$8.25 million to upgrade the infrastructure itself.

Interesting, they talk about $3K per radio, I assume they're talking about APX's. Seems overkill in Allegheny County but I guess they don't make to many non-digital public safety radios anymore. They'd need a whole lot more than 18 million to move the whole county to phase 1 much less phase 2 trunking. I don't think we have much to worry about from a monitoring standpoint, unless I'm wrong.

Other notes in Allegheny county, specifically West PD Channel 1: Crescent Township is using the channel and I can't seem to figure out why. Any ideas?

The other night they moved a bunch of departments off of there channels for “maintenance” wonder if this has anything to do with it. They were only off of there primary channel for an hour or so.

Rumors has is West PD S-2 was closed and crescent moved to WPD1 and Coraopolis moved to WPDS-1
