Up until last week I was able to monitor the local police department transmissions but they went to a different system. The same used by the Troopers. I was wondering if someone could tell me what equipment I would need to monitor the new system. I'm just a casual listener and not really interested or knowledgeable enough to lay out too much money. Low end equipment would be fine. Maybe some Brands and model numbers to look for. That would be great.

Hi, They mostly likely changed too the ALMR p-25 system. You'll need a scanner thats capable too recieve or hear them. Here's a list of a couple scanners that will work bcd396t, bcd996t, pro-106, psr500, psr600, pro-96, and uniden newwer unreleased models.
