What am I doing wrong? I recently got a Pro-95. I programmed it with all the fire frequencies (non 800) and in another group I put all the 800's in and talk groups. I live in the Dutchess County, NY area.
The problem is that when I scan all my frequency banks I never pick up any 800's unless I make the one channel I've heard activity on for our local law enforcement a priority channel. If I don't and make another a priority I never hear anything from the 800 channels. I have followed all the instructions to the letter and I'm getting ready to toss this thing.
Also sometimes all I get is a lot of squawking and noise with no conversation at all.
I'm finding it confusing, I wish I knew someone local who could program it for me in case I'm doing it wrong.
I thought having a scanner that will scan 800 would open a new world for me , but have given me nothing but headaches.
