Btw, are you on vhf or 900? Seems like John told me you guys were on 900, but i may be wrong.

VHF now - just using simplex. We both have handhelds now. It seems to behave about the same as analog as for range. An external antenna while mobile is a good idea (just like analog), and a regular HT amplifier for VHF works fine for the digital also (thus transforming it into ~50W handheld). It works and sounds great until the fringe area - then it starts to get garbled and such. I think John and I were planning on bringing the radios to the Scan OKC meeting this Wed.
