A really nice thing about DXing with portables is they don’t cost $500. While it’s disappointing whenever something breaks, here it’s not the end of the world.

Update: the noise appeared a few minutes ago. I unplugged the Terk, and found I couldn't hear it on the whip antenna or built-in ferrite bar. Also not heard on other radios. Therefore it would appear it is an RFI issue. It stopped now on the Terk. Very strange. Maybe some local QRM ? Really has me stumped. Back to dx'ing on 1480!
