Is there anything in the database that signifies Analog?

I was given a BC350A without an antenna or power cord. Does anyone still use Analog?

I am close to Indian Reservations, Nation Forests/Parks, small airports, etc so if analog is still used by anyone then I could make a cord etc, but would not worry about it if it would be useless anyway.

The mode column will tell you what emission is used.

Lots more use analog than digital i think still

Thanks for the quick reply! Is there a key for all the modes? Is FMN the same as NFM in the wiki, Narrow FM? This may seem like an obvious question but when the designation is not exact it is hard to be sure.

Is there a key for all the modes?...
I might have missed it, but I didn't find a complete list elsewhere in the Wiki.

Here's the list from the RR Database Handbook, section 6.2.5.6, pg 15/27:
The modes currently supported by the RR database are:
  • FM: frequency modulation, analog voice
  • P25: Project 25, digital voice
  • AM: amplitude modulation, analog voice
  • FMN: narrowband frequency modulation, analog voice, (use this for channels operating at 12.5 kHz or less bandwidth)
  • Telm: data, (not digital voice)
  • TRBO: digital voice (e.g., "MOTOTRBO")
  • NXDN: digital voice (e.g., "NEXEDGE")
  • D-STAR: digital voice
  • LSB: lower sideband
  • USB: upper sideband
  • YSF: Yaesu System Fus

I think I've seen "DMR" used also, which is the same as "TRBO", if I remember correctly.

Edit: If you want some more detailed information on modulation and emissions designators, these Wiki pages might help:

Hope this helps,

Yes, DMR is for the most part the same as TRBO if you're talking conventional. Trunked TRBO is not the same as trunked DMR. But, in DMR mode you can monitor any DMR signal including TRBO (provided it's not encrypted).
