I've reviewed the posts addressing the scanner cutting out during a transmission. I completely disabled CC and all the priorities I had designated. I was never able to determine if it was a simulcast issue or not until I discovered accidently that MY scanner stopped cutting out when ProScan is closed. Obviously, I tested my theory and that was the problem. An easy fix would be nice!

By cutting out, is the scanner resuming scanning after about 2 or 5 seconds? Make sure Resume Scan/Search is disabled in the Scanner Control. This is located in the upper right of the virtual display, you may need to click the "SC" box to expand to show the option.

Set Delay Time sets the delay (in seconds) the amount of time the scanner stays on a channel after the transmission has ended before moving to the next channel. A negative delay will force a resume after that number of seconds. This setting applies to all channels in the system. You cannot set the delay on a 'per channel' basis. The default setting is 2 seconds.
Scroll to 'Set Delay Time' and press E/●.
Scroll to the desired delay time (-10, -5, -2, 0, 1, 2, 5, 10, or 30 secs.) and press E/● to save and exit.
the negative makes the radio go back to scanning. forced scan.

I've experimented with that! Regardless of which setting (2, 5, 10, etc.) it still continued scanning after a second or two. At some point I closed ProScan to work on something else and started receiving entire transmissions. Thank's wtp!

Thank's RMason! I'll play with it tomorrow when I get home. Looking at your screen shot, which program are you running? I'll see if I can find it in ProScan.

This is the scanner control window in Proscan. This is located in the upper right of the virtual display - you will need to click the "SC" box to expand the menu to show the option. Make sure it is set to Off. If enabled, this Resume Scan/Search setting will cause the scanner to resume scanning only when Proscan is running.

I run 3 996P2 scanners going 24/7 into ProScan since they were released and have never seen such behavior. I would lean more toward your individual setup rather than a ProScan software issue.
Assuming Windows machine, what version?
What other things are you using the computer for?
What other USB connections?
Have you tried a different physical port on the computer?
Have you tried a different cable?
