Darticas: RG-8, RG-213- LMR 400 Are so close in loss, that you can't tell a difference, unless you have test meters. 3db either increases your signal 1/2 a s unit or you lose 1/2 a s unit. Thats at 3db, Probably the best for the price is Belden 9913. Figuring you have an 800 mhz signal, 100 feet of coax, rg 213 has a 7,1 dbd loss, rg8 as 6.4 loss, lmr 400 at its high cost per foot, is a 3.6 loss, but Belden 9913 has a 3.9 loss and a much better price. So for general listing, the gain or the loss, is going to be so small, you probably won't see a difference. Now over time, the higher price coax, has better shielding, better jacket, better "hold up" under the elements so a cost to use per year will be less but a higher price to install for first use. I have a repeater that has lmr 600 , 150 feet, and when tested, the coax tests as good as the day it was first installed. Jacket has not cracked, water has not gotten into the coax, but it is awful stuff to work with. VERY STIFF.
