Antenna Frequency Range

So I just bought this http://www.radioshack.com/product/i...Type/Scanner/HAM&fbc=1&parentPage=family.

Most of the frequenices in my area are between 140 and 160 MHz. With a few in the 400 and only 2 or 3 in the 800. I do have about a dozen or so in the 40 MHz range.

I take it, with this antenna, I won't be bringing those in, while I?

i have the same antenna and yes it will receive the 40mhz band but not as well as other antennas will.

What kind of cable did you use? RGxx?

I just had a Ham friend of mine at work tell me that RG58 is the same as RG6
