I have a 800MHz yagi antenna attached below my roof eave with a PVC pipe. My question is, what's the best way to ground the incoming LMR-400 and my BCD996XT? I'm not so much concerned with lightning protection, just just something to drain the smaller eddy or static charges that build up. I prefer to to ground the LMR-400 just before it enters the scanner, and the scanner itself. Would a hose clamp with ground wire around the BNC connector work? I'm probably just going to ground the scanner by one of the screws, but he incoming wire is what I'm most concerned about.

grounding

The correct way to ground your antenna is by bonding to your service ground. One way to do this is to drive a ground rod outside where your antenna coax comes down to ground level. Bond the ground rod with a #6 wire to your service ground. Attach a metal plate - copper is best - to your new ground rod. Drill a hole in the plate large enough to pass a male-male BNC connector and fasten the connector to the plate.
Attach your antenna coax end to one side of the connector. Attach a 2nd jumper coax cable to the other side of the connector and feed it into your house.
If you really want to be sure, install lighting arrestor https://www.hamcity.com/store/pc/ATT3G50U-183p81.htm ( this is an example - find one with the proper BNC connector) in between the antenna coax and the house jumper coax
