Running a Whistler 1065, monitoring mainly in the 155mhz freq. range. What's your opinion on this antenna?

Looks OK.

Should work well on 155mhz

I use a Discone, like this:

Sky-band Antenna | Scanner Master

Works great!

Would go with a simple Discone as mentioned.

Overpriced for what you need. For VHF only, you don't need much.
Options:
Make a VHF 1/4 wave ground plane antenna.
VHF Ringo, $60 https://www.theantennafarm.com/catalog/laird-technologies-crs150-4103
Or, NMO base https://www.theantennafarm.com/catalog/laird-technologies-mbcn-7531 and a quarter wave whip: https://www.theantennafarm.com/catalog/larsen-nmoqc-767

Discone's are fine, but if all you need is VHF, then it's overkill. On the other hand, if you ever expect to explore other bands, a discone can be a good option.
