Y'know, my wife likes it when I turn on a scanner to something interesting. She doesn't know how to set it up and she doesn't want to take the time to understand it. But when the fire-house across the road empties out, she wants to know what's up. She's also curious to listen to some of the odd stations I'll tune in at night on MW and occasionally SW.Or wives!
So at least in my case, she doesn't mind at all.
