Antenna Woes!

I guess I'm missing something, but, he shouldn't need anything real special to pull in a signal at least equal to the duckie.

That was what I thought when the original problem was picking up 453.1250, which he was doing in some fashion with the duckie. That discone and 50 feet of RG-58 should have done fine. Since he already owned all the pieces, my answer was to debug the system and get on with life. Upgrades could happen as equipment ran out its service life.

The problem has since changed. Bill appears to have caught at least part of the bug and is now adding 460.1750, 453.6625, 452.7750, 460.4500, and 460.5000 to the mix. It is possible he has found out how much this can help his business and wants to get more out of it.

Still not going to receive anything if the coax conductor is shorted to ground...no matter how bad the antenna or lossy the cable
